Linking up with Jodi and Living Arrows with a portrait of each of my children once every week for 2015.

Kitty: I love how utterly carefree you are when you dance.  So completely self conscious and wrapped up in the music.  Whenever you got the chance at Grandma and Grandad’s house you’d reach up on your tiptoes to turn the radio on and then twirl and bounce to whatever tune came on. Sadly it was a short lived New Year’s party for you when you went down with a tummy bug in the early hours of 2016 and took the rest of your holiday to recuperate but you were such a trooper and I’m so glad to see you better.

Elma: Playgroup’s biggest gift to you so far has been the song “Squirrel, Squirrel, wave your bushy tail!” You absolutely love it, can frequently be found singing it as you wander around the house and it’s become an ear worm for both your parents.  So it seemed only appropriate that Father Christmas bring a little wooden squirrel (complete with bushy tail) for your stocking.  When we put the Christmas tree out into the garden this week to get it ready for the tree collection you were very concerned that it didn’t have any lights or baubles or tinsel on it and you took squirrel off to investigate to see if he liked Christmas trees when they didn’t have baubles.

Pip: Oh what a very Pip expression this is! Full of mischief and movement.  I don’t know when you stashed a Christmas tree bauble in the basket of muslins that lives on your changing table, but that’s where you found it, and with a look that said as clear as day “I know I shouldn’t do this”, over my shoulder it went to bounce and land plum in the middle of your bed.  Cheeky boy; but after a couple of weeks where being poorly and teethy has made you really quite cross it’s lovely to see you happy again.

Thank you, we are, and yes, Elma is utterly adorable when she sings – I’ll have to try to capture it for her birthday video!

I love Elma’s photo and the story behind it! And Kitty’s too, seeing them dance like that is so lovely. And Pip’s as well in fact, great expression, and of course a bauble had to be stashed and thrown!

I keep finding baubles all over the place – he’s got a real collection going!

Oh no, what a rotten way to start the year. I hope she is all better by now! That picture of Elma is adorable and yes! I’ve seen that look before… That is the “I’m planning something devilishly cute” look my son would get (and still gets) all the time. LOL!

Yes it’s when he learns to hide that look that I know I’m in real trouble!
