Linking up with Jodi with a portrait of each of my children once every week for 2015.

Kitty:  Another week and another picture of you on the zip wire.  You love it up there and you’re absolutely fearless.  And it’s on the zip wire that I can see how much you’re changing and how fast.  In the winter I had to pass it up to you and hold it while you climbed carefully on, and then run beside you just for reassurance. Now I can be helping Elma along the beam and you’re up and off with a flying run up.

Elma: And where Kitty has the zip wire, you Miss Elma have your swings.  Preferably really high and really fast, and with Daddy pushing.  Mummy’s muscles are apparently a poor comparison.  But that means that I get to take pictures, and try to capture just a sense of your sheer joy . My happy little girl in her favourite spot!

Pip: You just get better and better at standing. It’s amazing how much can change in a month.  When the health visitor saw you at ten months you weren’t pulling up and your standing was very wobbly, and now look at you.  You pull up on anything and everything and hang on with one hand.  And yes, I know, you want to go on the zip wire too.  Soon my sweet, soon.

    What a lovely idea!
The zip wire is a milestone in our house too 🙂 Nola can jump on all by herself now which scares me just a little (they grow too fast 🙂
    Absolutely beautiful pictures 🙂

Gosh Elma looks like she’s going so high in the swing! Love the photo of Kitty on the zip slide. Kids love those!

Does the little truck in the background of the swing photo move?

What is a health visitor?! I’m from the USA, so I’m curious. I’m a pediatric physical therapist.

The little truck is a mini LandRover on springs, you can bounce around on it and it will wobble back and forth. A Health Visitor, hmm I’m not sure what the equivalent would be. They’re not doctors or nurses, they’re trained in normal child development so after the first couple of weeks they weigh and measure the baby, will answer any questions you have about what’s normal and what’s not, they run weaning sessions, breast feeding support clinics, and a whole heap of baby groups. The children have two official checks by the HV, the first somewhere between 9 months and a year and the second at 2-2.5 just to check they’re doing everything they should. I strongly suspect that in the early days they’re also keeping an eye on the mums and watching for any signs of PPD.

They look great and looks like lots of fun. The girls are so big and little Pip will be running with his sisters very soon.

Love the picture of Elma on the swing. You’ve captured the moment brilliantly. X

Thank you – she does love to be flying!

  • Yanic 02/08/2015 at 12:22 pm

Wow! Look at him GO!!!! He’ll be running circles around you guys before long. That is how it happened with both of mine. One they we were applauding them standing and in a blink of an eye, they were running through the house. And you have little misses that are thrill seekers. How lovely. Swings are a huge favorite with my son here, but not my daughter. I suspect a small fear of heights. I think we’ll find out!

I hope your week-end is a wonderful one. xo

I know! Kitty as 14 months and Elma 15 months when they started walking but I think Pip might beat them to it, he’s just so eager to be off running with them!

Kids are always full of smiles at a park. It looks like they all enjoyed it. I think you might be chasing Pip around before you know it 🙂
