Elma Family Kitty

The Fourth Week that Was – according to Instagram

This was the week when a spontaneous whim saw us playing badminton in Grandma and Grandad’s back garden three hours later, when we huddled under an umbrella eating chocolate cupcakes in torrential rain, when I got to play at being a lady who lunches, and when we had a long awaited first barbeque.

This week we were…

… Taking Great-Gran out for lunch – with advance warning this time – and watching Elma giggle, while Kitty was far too distracted by the display that wasn’t really supposed to be a sandpit. It was lovely just to relax and be surrounded by parents, siblings, aunts uncles and cousins for a little while and the girls had a blast before we had to load them up and set off south through an enormous cloudburst.

… Unravelling from the weekend; a little shopping, a few chores, and a lot of story time in the garden trying to catch a breeze.

…playing patterns with our tablecloth. We were supposed to be meeting friends in the park but the heavens opened and we stayed home to cuddle up with a new book. I’ve yet to persuade Kitty that her name really doesn’t begin with G for Giraffe or J for Jellyfish so she’s decided that her name is now Jellyfish to get round the problem.

…listening to H build Lego Star Wars with the girls while I soaked in a blissfully deep bath and read my new Artful Blogging from cover to cover (pure uninterrupted bliss); sneaking little bits of red pepper while slicing up a salad to go with our sandwich lunch; and finagling the technology to print my newly downloaded pattern.

Who knows what this week will bring!

Artful Blogging is eye candy! – it’s an American quarterly publication that showcases beautiful art/craft/food/style blogs and is full of gorgeous photos. I think you can get back copies from scrap booking shops in the UK but I have a subscription as a rolling Christmas present from my girls – it’s definitely worthy of a good bath and full concentration.

It’s true, we have a LOT of Duplo. It’s saving grace is that it’s not as painful to stand on as sticklebrick!
