Linking up with Jodi with a portrait of each of my children once every week for 2016.

Space for the Butterflies - the 52 project

Kitty: In technical terms this isn’t the best picture that I’ve ever taken of you, and yet it will always be special: this is you at the end of your second day at school, happy, giggling, twirling and just so excited to go back on Monday. It’s been a while since you were anything but exhausted and unhappy at the end of a school day so to see this flooded me with relief and happiness. I couldn’t wish for anything more for you right now than that you are happy.

Elma: my littlest Cinderella curled up for an impromptu nap in a rare patch of sunshine.  You’ve had a busy week trying to keep up with your big sister and being chased by your little brother and it’s so nice to have a very chilled out Saturday so you can catch up.

Pip: you are just one little ball of pure energy at the moment; if I could bottle your energy I’d make a fortune! With the start of September has come the rain and we’re very quickly realising how we’re going to need some very good waterproofs for you this winter. Right now if rain stops garden play then there’s only one thing for it; run upstairs, lie on your bed and kick your feet until you get all those wiggles out, giggling all the while!

oh, you are a good, good mum, Carie! What a treasure this series will be as your children grow. (I am so grateful with you that Kitty comes home from school happy. What a relief!)
