Linking up with Jodi with a portrait of each of my children once every week for 2015.

Space for the Butterflies - the 52 Project

Kitty: The problem with riding your sister’s kicksy after years of perfecting your braking on your own one, is that that bit at the back, it’s not the brake on hers and you will tend to flip the whole contraption up and into your knees and tummy.  We mopped up the tears, wiped up the graze and you sat next to me for a little while, chilling out with your Pudsey-pack to stop any swelling developing.  You were so sweet and so wise, telling me that when I went in, you were going to too, because it clearly wasn’t safe for little girls out here.  One hour later and inside had entirely lost its appeal and we were back out again, just a little more cautiously.

Elma: I didn’t have any pictures of you on your own from the weekend so I scooped you up one evening and we went outside to catch the very last of the light.  I’m not quite sure what you were watching, a cat, or a bird hopping along the fence perhaps, but I love your posture, all tucked up, your hair all over the place, and the way you’ve wrapped your beloved blankie around you.  It’s such a snuggly pose from my snuggliest girl.

Pip: We know what’s going to happen next.  And not just because your (thankfully waterproof) trousers show what just did happen when you found a dish of rainwater in the garden.  My little explorer boy, always wanting to try something new and see what happens, and as much in love with water play as ever.

What an amazing collection of portraits! And I love how they are all wrapped in cozy knits!

I hadn’t realised that until you pointed it out but yes, knits all round, it’s how I’m present when I’ve had to go to work!

Glad to hear Kitty is alright. Love the photo of Elma. I can just imagine how much fun Pip had with that water 🙂

Sweet pictures again. The one of Elma is just so peaceful. I would love to know what she was thinking. 🙂
