Linking up with Jodi with a portrait of each of my children once every week for 2015.

Kitty:  You’re not quite as tall as the very tall postbox but goodness me you’re growing at a vast rate of knots. We went to buy you a new pair of shoes, accurately suspecting that your old ones were a bit small and it seems that when you have size 12.5 feet there’s not much in the way of brightly coloured shoes around.  From September you’ll be in black school shoes for the next 14 years, I’m not going to bring on that level of monochrome any sooner than is strictly necessary so we went for trainers, committed ourselves to tying your shoelaces every day until you learn to do it yourself, and bought you possibly the brightest pair of footwear ever known to man. I just wish they did them in my size.

Elma: My snuggle bug. You come running to me for “a Mama cuddle” which generally involves throwing yourself into my arms and snuggling down with your head tucked under my chin.  And you love to share some of those cuddles with your babies and teddies.  You don’t have one true favourite, they each take a turn at being your best buddy but I think you’ve got them in rotation and right now it’s your Anna-Elsa doll (pull the skirt up or down and you get either Anna or Elsa, they’re completely brilliant and stop any arguments about which sister got which doll – they both got both, well done the grandparents!). I can’t look at this picture without wanting to scoop you up in a giant squeezy hug too but as you are in bed and hopefully asleep I shall restrain myself and save the cuddles for the morning.

Pip:  Young man that is a very grown up expression for a seven month old. Just because you’re the size of a 1 year old doesn’t mean you should think you can rattle through your childhood at any greater speed.  This feels like it might just be a glimpse of what you’re going to look like as a teenager.  You were having a wonderful time, rolling around on the floor kicking at your Grandma’s birthday balloons and what looks very like your sisters’ stethoscope. I have no idea why it’s around your middle, I suspect you need to consult your sisters on that one.

What a great idea to take pictures of your kids once a week for a year. They change so much over a year, this is a wonderful way to document it.
