Living Arrows 11/52

My English teacher once had a theory that in most of your childhood memories it will be sunny, usually whether it actually was or not.  It’s something to do with the way the brain likes to process and store knowledge, and, if true, can only be a good thing if I want the girls to remember anything about this winter.  But then there are the days when you know they’ll remember the sunshine that was really there.

The days when you wake up and the sky is already a flawless blue from horizon to horizon;

When you end up playing in the garden in your pyjamas and a coat, because it’s just too nice not to.

And the days when even princess fairy pirates, can’t help needing a little snooze!

Being a fairy princess pirate sounds exhausting and playing in the garden in your pj’s sounds awesome! Lovely photos, I especially like the one with a little face peering out of the window!

Thank you – Elma and I were in the garden and there was a little knock on the window so we looked up and there she was!

I cannot wait to open my patio doors and let them run around from the moment they get up! Gorgeous photos x

Oh it’s going to be wonderful – I hope everything house move is going well (and quickly so you get there while it’s still sunny!)

I think it would be wonderful to be a fairy princess pirate! What wonderful imaginations these littles have!! So true about sunny childhoods! That’s all I remember!

As far as I can work out, being a fairy princess pirate means we get to reenact Sofia the First, Tinkerbell and Jake and the Neverland Pirates all at once!!

I think your English teacher might have been on to something, I seem to remember far more sunny days than not. Glad the girls, and their mum are enjoying some fun. Love Kitty at the window…..

I think my memories are almost all sunshine – or really big weather like thunder storms!

I love your English teachers theory, it immediately rings true. My daughter begs to play in the garden in her pj’s but she has Raynaud’s and turns blue even with seven layers on! She would be so jealous to see such fun!

Oh goodness, poor girl. Elma’s quite obsessed with playing in the garden so I think we’re going to be out in our pjs a lot this year.

Beautiful photos Carie, being a fairy princess pirate looks like it’s incredibly hard work. I love this age when their minds are unpolluted and full of imagination. xxx

From the stories that she tells me it’s definitely the way to go!

I have to agree with your English teacher, most of my memories are sunny ones! x

I’m going to have to do some research later to see whether it’s an actual theory!

That’s a lovely theory… and that last photo is gorgeous; it hard work being a princess! X

It’s true – all that fluttering, swashbuckling and waving can wear a girl out!

Gorgeous, I love the one of her peeking out of the window. x
